My path into endodontics began with a fascination for what lies beneath — the hidden architecture of the tooth, the biology of the pulp, and the remarkable capacity of the body to heal when given the right conditions. That curiosity led me from Portugal to the Netherlands, where I trained and specialised in endodontics at ACTA Amsterdam.
For nearly one decade, my practice has been dedicated exclusively to endodontics. The approach has never changed: preserve what nature built, intervene only as much as necessary, trust the biology. Every case under high magnification and high-quality imaging, every decision informed by the best available evidence — because every tooth deserves that level of care.

When the pulp can be saved, it should be. Using bioceramic materials and careful case selection, vital pulp therapy preserves tooth vitality and avoids unnecessary root canal treatment — particularly valuable in young patients with immature root development.
Root canal treatment performed under high-power magnification with NiTi rotary instrumentation and bioceramic obturation. Every step — from access to seal — is guided by current evidence to maximise disinfection and long-term success.
When a previous root canal has not healed, retreatment offers a second chance. Careful removal of old filling materials, identification of missed anatomy and thorough re-disinfection address the reasons the original treatment failed.
When non-surgical options have been exhausted, endodontic microsurgery provides a precise, minimally invasive alternative. Using the operating microscope and ultrasonic micro-tips, the root apex is accessed, prepared and sealed with bioceramic materials.
Clinical decisions are grounded in the best available scientific evidence. Protocols, materials and techniques are chosen based on peer-reviewed research — not habit or tradition.
Every patient deserves to understand their diagnosis, treatment options, risks and expected outcomes. Clear communication ensures you are an active participant in your own care.
Endodontic treatment does not have to be a stressful experience. Effective anaesthesia, a calm environment and a transparent explanation of each step help reduce anxiety and ensure comfort throughout.
The operating microscope, CBCT imaging, NiTi instrumentation and bioceramic materials are not extras — they are the standard of care that allow for more precise diagnosis and more predictable results.
No two teeth are the same. Each case is assessed on its own merits — anatomy, prognosis and patient factors — so the treatment plan fits the tooth, not a template.
Endodontics does not exist in isolation. Close communication with referring dentists, prosthodontists and periodontists ensures the treatment fits the broader restorative plan for the tooth.
The field evolves constantly. Staying current through courses, literature and peer discussion means patients benefit from the most up-to-date techniques and materials available.
Treatment does not end when the canal is sealed. Structured follow-up appointments monitor healing, catch complications early and give both patient and referrer confidence in the outcome.
